Quick and easy recipe!!

With weekend around the corner this flat bread are perfect thing to make for lunch or dinner. Colder months means more baking at home and you can't beat warm bread coming out of the oven. Those who know me, know that I love to bake bread and sometimes waiting around for it to prove is daunting. When I first started working in restaurants the idea of making bread used to scare me but as cheesy as it may sound it all comes down to practice. Majority of people avoid making yeasts bread but with only few ingredients at hand this recipe cant get any easier. The proving takes no longer than 15 minutes meaning less stress. Those who have travelled to Turkey or eaten their food know that bread is important part of their culture especially with variety of flat breads that they make for "doner kebabs". Since you cant always travel miles away why not bring the recipe into your house. Without talking too much lets get to the recipe and I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Ingredients: Makes 9/10 flat breads

500g plane flour

1 Tbsp salt

1 Tbsp sugar

1 packet of dried yeast (7g)

2 Tbsp olive oil

150g natural yoghurt

310ml warm water (32-36* degrees)

Method:

1. Sieve the flour and salt in a bowl

2. In a jug mix the water, sugar and yeast and let it rest for 5 min (the mixture is ready when bubbles start to form.

3. Once the yeast mixture is ready add the yoghurt and olive oil.

4. Add the liquid into the flour and mix with a wooden spoon or by hand.

5. Tip over the dough onto floured surface and knead for 5 minutes (the dough should be soft).

6. If you have extra time at this point you can rest the dough for 10-15 minutes.

7. If you don't have much time you can immediately weigh out the dough and divide it into ten equal pieces.

8. Rest the dough for 15 minutes

10. Roll them out to 0.5 cm thickness (you don't want them too thin as the dough will start to break)

11. While you roll the dough out you can heat up your pan (non stick is favourable, I use a cast iron pan its perfect for baking breads both in the oven and on the hob)

12. Place the bread onto the pan 1-2 minutes on each side

13. Brush with olive oil and repeat the process until finished

Hope you enjoyed the recipe!
